Spring Wellness Retreat ~ Nourishing the Heart

Join us for the "Nourishing the Heart" Retreat ~ Designed for you to feel nurtured and tended to in a safe and supportive space to help you process grief and find solace.

You'll enjoy a range of activities including writing, meditation, yoga, massage, and nutritional health and wellness, all aimed at promoting self-care and emotional healing.


With the calming influence of nature all around, you'll have the opportunity to relax and connect with yourself, while our team of experienced facilitators guide you.

Held at the beautiful sanctuary of Cliff’s Garden, formerly Stone Lake Farms.

10916 Stone Lake Road, Elk Grove California.

Lunch, snacks and refreshments provided. Catered by Crystal Dunn of Cooking Done Right.

Please bring a reusable water bottle, and a journal. Wear comfortable clothes. Hat and sunscreen suggested.

A link for massages and other services will be emailed. We strongly suggest that you do this before the day of the event. These are not included in the price of the event.

~ Chair Massage by Monica Lemke will be $15/ 15 minutes.

~ Hand Massage by Jocelyn Azvala $15/15 minutes.

~ Lymphatic Massage (hands and head) will be available.

Restorative Yoga with Karen Penfold ~

Through her personal experience with traumatic stress and grief, Karen Penfold discovered her passion to help others heal from their own trauma. She will be offering a Trauma Sensitive Yoga session. This stress relieving session is for all mobility levels as we explore bringing ease and calm into the body as a means to calm the mind.

Nutrition with Katie Neumann ~

My name is Katie Neumann and I am the founder of Deeply Rooted Kitchen and serve as the Vice President of the Elk Grove Community Garden. I am a garden-to-table enthusiast! I find there can be a lot of health, healing and flavor in seasonal gardening and cooking. I am a firm believer that gardening and cooking don’t have to be complicated; if you have the right tools and the right recipe, you can be successful!

Grief Write with Sarah Van Buren ~

My name is Sarah Van Buren and as a licensed therapist of nearly 15 years I have helped numerous clients grieving the loss of a loved one. Through my own grief journey, I discovered the power of healing through writing with others. Writing allows one an opportunity to sort out thoughts and give voice to complex and sometimes confusing emotions without fear of judgement.

Memory Boxes with Elisa Louizos ~

Elisa Louizos is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been in the field for over twenty-five years.Elisa's passion is working with children and their families. Her clients come to her for support navigating issues such as depression, anxiety, understanding and regulating their emotions, improving communication, and more. She works from a strength-based, family approach to help them heal and thrive.
